Curriculum Vitae: 

Charlie has a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Iowa. He also holds a M.A. in Cultural Studies from the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research, a B.A. from the Social Studies Division of Bard College, and a high school diploma from Anamosa Senior High School. In addition to the ancient arts of Rhetoric and the pedagogy thereof, his teaching and research interests include 20th Century U.S.  Cultural and Intellectual History, Critical Theory, Cultural Ethnography, and Transnational American Studies. 

 

Charlie teaches a full range of undergraduate courses in the Rhetoric Department, and in the past has taught for the American Studies department here at the University of Iowa, as well as classes for Coe College, Kirkwood Community College, and Radboud University in Nijmegen, Holland.
