Scholarship opportunities for continuing undergraduates
The Myron J. Walker Scholarship is awarded to Iowa residents (persons with a permanent residence in Iowa) pursuing a career in any faith tradition.
The award amount is variable and more than one scholarship can be awarded annually.
Scholarships can be applied for each year. Previous recipients who re-apply will be considered along with new applicants.

Undergraduate research support
The department also provides its majors and minors with support for undergraduate research in the form of scholarships, awards for the UI Undergraduate Research Festival, research-assistant positions, and other support.

Adler Awards
The Adler Awards Luncheon is held each year in spring. The Adler Luncheon honors the memory of E.P. Adler, one of the department's founders. The annual event was established and endowed through the generosity of the late Philip and Henrietta Adler, with ongoing support provided by the family of Lloyd and Betty Schermer. The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences also awards scholarships to students continuing coursework in a major within the college. Some scholarships are open to all liberal arts and sciences students and others are for select liberal arts and sciences majors.
