Andrew Dunn is a rising senior from Spirit Lake, IA, pursuing a BA in Political Science with department and university honors. Andrew has been an active competitor and coach of speech and debate for 8 years. In 2018, Andrew competed at the Pi Kappa Delta National Comprehensive Tournament and secured the national title in Public Forum Debate. He is currently a coach for a program supporting youth debate education in China. Andrew is the Executive Director of March For Our Lives Iowa, the state affiliate of the national gun violence prevention advocacy group formed in the wake of the Parkland, FL school shooting. His advocacy with MFOL earned him and others Progress Iowa's 2018 Marcia Nichols Progressive Advocate of the Year Award. Andrew is very involved in campaign work having served as a researcher, field organizer and launch director for a number of local, state and federal campaigns in Iowa, Georgia, and Washington, DC. Andrew had the honor of participating in the South Australian Parliamentary Internship program, researching the relationship between global education policies and income inequality subsequently advising the South Australian Labor Party. He plans to pursue an MPP after completing his undergrad and hopes to specialize on environmental conservation policy.
