Alyssa Prorok is an Assistant Professor of Political Science. She received her PhD from the University of Maryland in 2013. She was a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Foreign Policy Program at the Brookings Institution during the 2012-2013 academic year, and was a Visiting Pre-Doctoral Scholar in the Department of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University during Fall 2011. Her primary research focuses on internal conflict, specifically examining civil war termination, outcome, and the incentives of rebel and state leaders during conflict. Her research also addresses the role of international law during both civil and interstate conflict and in the settlement of interstate territorial disputes. Her work appears in outlets such as the American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, and the Journal of Conflict Resolution.
