A short experimental film written and produced by University of Iowa Professor Lisa Schlesinger and independent filmmaker Irina Patkanian has been selected for the Iowa Public Television’s Film Lounge. The film, “Three Boats – Iphigenia at Lesvos,” responds to the refugee crisis through the lens of the Iphigenia myth.

IPTV’s Film Lounge series was designed to showcase the work of Iowa filmmakers by presenting locally produced short films. A screening of all the films was held at Film Scene on Feb. 5.

Schlesinger is an associate professor in the Department of Theatre Arts, part of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.
