Carin Green
Professor Carin Green

It is with great sadness that the Department of Classics and the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences announces the death of Professor Emerita Carin M. C. Green on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at the age of 67 after a valiant struggle with cancer.

Carin was a vital presence in the Classics department for more than twenty years, and served as chair from 2007-2012. She was an active force in regional and national Classics organizations and a strong promoter of Latin pedagogy. Her scholarship on Roman religion was groundbreaking, but her greatest legacy may be her professional and personal mentorship of countless students and colleagues. She is sorely missed by all whose lives she has touched.
