Terms of Use

You are the only authorized user of your College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Linux account. Do not give access to your account to anyone else, by any means. Use of your account must not exceed your authority. Examples of unauthorized use include, but are not limited to, obtaining superuser privileges, observing network traffic, or forging network traffic.

Anyone who uses a computer system without authority or in excess of their authority may be monitored and logged by system personnel. In the course of such monitoring, or in the course of system maintenance, the activity of authorized users may also be monitored and logged. If such monitoring reveals evidence of possibly criminal activity, system personnel may give such evidence to law enforcement officials. By using an account, you implicitly consent to this policy.

Respect the work and personal expression of others. Violations of authorial integrity, including but not limited to plagiarism, invasion of privacy, unauthorized access, and trade secret and copyright violation, are forbidden. Unauthorized copying or use of software is illegal and is strictly prohibited.

Use of your account must comply with the Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources policy of The University of Iowa, the Acceptable Use Policy and Policy on Electronic Publishing of the CLAS Linux Group, and all other applicable policies and regulations.
