Using the VMWare Horizon Client on Windows

 

Installation

  1. Download the VMware Horizon Client.  Under the "VMware Horizon Client for Windows" click the "GO TO DOWNLOADS" link

  2. Click the "Download now" link

  3. Once the download completes, double click downloaded installer and install it (admin password to your PC will be required)..

  4. Once the installation completes, start the VMWare Horizon Client

Configuration

  1. Click "Add Server"

  2. Enter vdi-clas.iowa.uiowa.edu for the name of the connection server and click Connect:

  3. Type in your HawkID for the "User Name:" and your Hawkid password in the "passcode:" box.

  4. Type the word "push", "sms" or "enter passcode" in the box for "Next Token Code.  To use the DUO push app on your phone, type "push". IF YOU GET AN ACCESS DENIED ERROR, you need to enroll in DUO 2 factor here .

  5. This should log you into one of the CLAS Virtual machines. Click CLAS-CVM Spring/Fall  to launch a new connection:
