The Women's Classical Caucus' Public Scholarship Award to Prof. Sarah Bond

Congratulations to Professor Sarah Bond who was awarded The Women's Classical Caucus' Public Scholarship Award.  The award was presented in Washington DC in January 2020.  Although Professor Bond was unable to make the awards ceremony, the Senior Co-Chair, Women's Classical Caucus said this about her contributions:

Sarah Bond is a tireless and fearless advocate of social justice, public scholarship, and women's voices in classics...she has brought “classics from below” to a wider and younger audience than previously imagined.  Among many salutary interventions, she has shone a spotlight on women and people of color in antiquity; critiqued the uses to which classics are put within modern pop culture and politics; helped connect female classicists via the crowd-sourced Women of Ancient History project; and advocated for greater equity and outreach in the field, e.g. by calling for public-facing scholarship to be better recognized and rewarded by the academy.
