History of Photography in Iowa with CLAS Alumni Fellow Mary Bennett, State Historical Society of Iowa

Old Capitol Museum, in conjunction with the University of Iowa Department of History and College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, will host a lecture by CLAS Alumni Fellow Mary Bennett (BA '76, MA ’85, History), Special Collections Coordinator at the State Historical Society of Iowa—Iowa City.

Ms. Bennett's lecture will focus on the history of early photography in Iowa. She was a contributor to the current Old Capitol Museum exhibit, Faces of Iowa Through the Early Lens and also the author of the book An Iowa Album: A Photographic History, 1860-1920. 

Ms. Bennett was recently selected as a College of Liberal Arts Alumni Fellow, and this public lecture is part of her associated residency in the Department of History.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
