Alberto Ortiz Diaz joined the Department of History as a visiting assistant professor this academic year.  He received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the spring 2017, with a dissertation titled "Redeeming Bodies and Souls: Penitentiary Science and Spirituality in Twentieth-Century Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic."
