A student organizational club was founded in 2017 with the goal to further the professional development of University of Iowa SRM students. It gives a platform for people to network amongst others in the program, gain valuable experience during the semester, and learn more about local Iowa sports community.

Biannually, Lecturer Dan Matheson arranges and leads a group of students on a 2-day, industry field trip to a city in the region. See video highlights of the Spring 2017 trip to Milwaukee! 

The annual Sport Business Symposium is hosted every September on a Friday followed by a home Iowa Football game. Keynote speakers have included:
