Customer service is the focus of the Fans First course. Learn how the quality of customer service impacts ticket holders' and fans' game-day experience and satisfaction.
You'll complete a capstone project, using your experience and expertise to provide feedback and suggestions for improvement for future events hosted by Iowa Athletics. (They have already implemented some ideas from past semesters.)

An invitation to participate in the course is competitive and based upon application materials including a resume and cover letter. All areas are taken into consideration including, but not limited to:
- Student interest in event management or operations
- Previous experience and classroom performance, demonstrated by grade-point average
- Engagement in the sport community as demonstrated through volunteer work and participation in the SRM Club
- A demonstrated responsibility to professional behavior both in and out of the classroom.
- A student's UI behavioral/misconduct record may be subject to review before offers are extended.

- One, weekly in-class operations meeting
- Learn in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Hands-on experience being on the front lines of a B1G athletic department
- Interact with athletes, fans, and visitors on game days
- Fall semester involves work with football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, and special events
- Spring semester involves work with basketball, wrestling, gymnastics, baseball, softball, track and field, and special events
- Behind-the-scenes access, tours, and experiences
