UISRM Achievements

Current students are gaining valuable work experience through internships, practicums, and conferences.  Recent UISRM graduates are entering the sport and recreation industries with internships and full-time employment.  Alumni are advancing toward their dream job.  The achievements of UISRM students and alumni that the program is aware of are below.

Achievements

  • Dr. Clint Huntrods (MA 2009) had his paper "Impact of Intercollegiate Athletic Participation on Leadership Development" published in the March 2017 Issue of Journal of College Student Development.
  • Shawn Koenigsberg (MA 2014) was promoted to Assistant Director of Event Management at the University of Iowa Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
  • Josh Helton (BS 2015) accepted a position with the Chicago Blackhawks in Ticket Operations & Customer Relations.
  • Chris Milligan (BS 2016) accepted a promotion to Associate Consulting Specialist with The Marketing Arm in Chicago.
  • Brock Baldwin (BS 2017) earned a Graduate Assistantship in Athletics Administration with Southwest Minnesota State University.
  • Mark Becker (BS 2017) is interning with the John Deere Classic.
  • Jordan Burrell (BS 2017) accepted a position as Athletic Facilities Intern with University of Iowa Athletics.
  • Hayley Dodge (BS 2017) accepted a position as Sales Associate with the Philadelphia 76ers.
  • Chloe Fabella (BS 2017) accepted a position as Project Coordinator with Paragon Sports Marketing in Chicago.
  • Joe Gleason (BS 2017) accepted a position as Ticket Sales Representative with the Chicago Bulls.
  • Hannah Gordon (BS 2017) accepted a position as a Membership Development Associate with the Miami Dolphins.
  • Max Johnson (BS 2017) accepted a position as Inside Sales Representative with the New York Mets.
  • Kathleen Meek (BS 2017) began a position as Operations Intern with the Ladies Professional Golf Association.
  • Morgan Rabine (BS 2017) is serving as Event Sales Intern with the Kansas City Chiefs.
  • Adam Stevens (BS 2017) accepted a position as Account Executive, Ticketing & Group Sales with the Iowa Speedway.
  • Whitney Rohrbach (MA 2017) accepted a position as Administrative Director for the Air Force Academy Women’s Basketball Program.
  • Morgan Tangen (MA 2017) accepted the position of Recreation Coordinator, Grandview Parks & Recreation, a suburb of Kansas City.
  • Elisa Simi (ex. BS 2017) accepted a position as Basketball Operations Intern with the WNBA's Chicago Sky.
  • Sarah Kurtz (ex. BS 2018, pictured) was accepted to participate in and attended the NCAA Career in Sports Forum at the NCAA Headquarters in Indianapolis.
  • Jessica Foubert (ex. BS 2018) accepted a position as Ticket Operations Intern with the Miami Dolphins.
  • Logan Samuelson (ex. BS 2018) accepted an internship with the Fort Myers Miracle and will intern with the Athletic Director of Fort Myers High School this fall.
  • Troy Weiman (ex. BS 2018) is serving as Media Intern for the Bismarck Larks of the Northwoods League.
  • Jordan Bahl (ex. MA 2018) accepted a position as Philadelphia 76ers’ Facilities Management Intern.

     

  • Congratulations to each of the students who successfully completed practicum courses and provided creative solutions to industry partners!
