Global Health Studies at the University of Iowa is an interdisciplinary curriculum which builds upon the humanities, social sciences and health sciences to help students understand the social determinants of health both internationally and locally.  Courses approved for the GHS major, certificate and minor come from a variety of disiplines across campus.  Students may also earn credit toward the major, certificate or minor through study abroad coursework.

Additionally, the Global Health Studies Program offers a variety of courses (listed on the sidebar) which give students the opportunity to combine academic work with community-based engagement.
