World Language

global health student in Brazil

Certificate students must either complete the UI CLAS Core World Languages requirement, or demonstrate language proficiency which is equivalent to that requirement (i.e. fourth-semester level).

The GHSP steering committee may advise students to take additional language study in preparation for a proposed Global Health Project.

Unless world language coursework is integral to a study abroad program used to satisfy the Global Health Project requirement, it will not count toward the 18 s.h. required for the certificate.

Students interested in learning an infrequently taught language to facilitate their participation in a global health project should contact the Autonomous Language Learning Network (ALLNET).
