Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position in Geospatial Applications

Geography:  Assistant Professor who will teach and conduct research in the area of Geospatial Applications; develop and teach innovative applications in GIScience, such as interactive digital/web-based GIS (including participatory and/or community-based methods), spatial statistics/ data visualization, and/or database development; teach introductory geography as well as intermediate and advanced courses on Geospatial technologies and their applications; initiate and maintain an active research agenda; and connect these to effective service. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding our new Geospatial Analysis Center (GAC) as a hub of geospatial research and outreach at Miami University by, for example, obtaining research grants and contracts as well as directing student internships.  The Department of Geography at Miami University offers undergraduate majors in Geography and Urban and Regional Planning, an M.A. in Geography, and Certificates in GIScience at the undergraduate and graduate level.  Require: PhD in Geography or related discipline by time of appointment.
