Oct 26, 2017

The Department of Geographical and Sustainability Sciences wants to congratulate Professor Raj on being featured in the NAFSA Publication for the 2017 Simon Award

NAFSA: Association of International Educators is the world's largest nonprofit association dedicated to international education and exchange, working to advance policies that ensure a more interconnected, peaceful world today and for generations to come. http://www.nafsa.org/  NAFSA has nearly 10,000 members at 3,500 institutions worldwide, representing over 150 countries.

Paul Simon Award: NAFSA’s Annual Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization recognizes U.S. colleges and universities that are making significant, well-planned, well-executed, and well-documented progress toward comprehensive internationalization—especially those using innovative and creative approaches.  The Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization is granted to a limited number of institutions each year - usually no more than five. The award recognizes overall excellence in internationalization efforts as evidenced in mission, strategies, programs, and results. In 2017, the UI received one of the 4 Simon Awards for Comprehensive Internationalization. UI’s award winning program is featured in pages 37-46 of the attached report from NAFSA (DGSS’s Prof. Rajagopal is prominently featured on pages 33-34).
