Brandon MacDougall is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Geographical and Sustainability Sciences at the University of Iowa. He obtained a B.S. in Environmental Sciences at the University of Iowa, with a minor in Biology. His primary research disciplines are urban ecology and geographic information systems (GIS); at present, his research focuses on the habitat selection preferences of urban wildlife along urban to rural gradients. His wife (Caitlin), son (Fen), and daughter (Indigo) spend their free time outside, whether it is camping, gardening, hiking, collecting herbs, or digging holes in the backyard.
