I was born in Aschaffenburg, Germany, but grew up in the small town of Dwight, Illinois. I attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville for my BS in Geography with a minor in GIS. I received my MS in Geography from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. After receiving my MS, I worked for Peoria County Illinois as a GIS Analyst. Currently, I am attending the University of Iowa in pursuit of my PhD from the Department of Geography and Sustainability Sciences. Outside of school, my favorite thing to do is go on walks or hikes with my wife and son.
My research interests include conservation policy, private land management, sustainable agriculture, ecosystem services, and stakeholder perceptions. I am interested in using a mixed-methods approach to better understand the role conservation policy plays in environmental landscapes ability to provide ecosystem services as well as stakeholders’ perception of those policies, services, and landscapes.
