Summary

The Research Analyst's primary role is to research, analyze, and process information to generate business intelligence reports, studies, and other products based on specific client needs. The Research Analyst will assist in determining gaps in information to assist the Data Collection Management team.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

Must have 0-3 years' practical experience in Geographic Information Science, business intelligence profession or a B.S. in Geography, Political Science, International Studies, or similar program of study from an accredited university.

Capable of balancing multiple tasks simultaneously with excellent product quality.

Capable of seamless integration with a team or independent work. 

Possess excellent research skills in open and closed (paid for or internally held) sources of information.

Strong analytical, quantitative, and reasoning skills.

Basic office automation skills such as word processing, spreadsheet manipulation, desktop publishing and use of a printer, copier, scanner, and phone systems.

Basic knowledge of GPS principals, GIS and/or Cartography.

 

Requirements

Assist in research, analysis, and writing of accurate client-specific business intelligence products in support of overall Spatial Network goals.

Assist the Data Collection Management team with open source and closed source research, product development, data review for quality assurance, and ultimately product delivery. 

Perform analysis on existing data to assess spatial, temporal, and associative patterns. Interpret results to prepare reports, graphics, and maps in support of analytical product development.

Participate in GIS team meetings, conferences, and various planning sessions as required.
