GIS Developer
A growing, central-Iowa agriculture technology company is seeking a motivated, innovative GIS developer to collaborate in the development and support of custom ArcGIS Server applications.
Description:
- Develop, test and maintain geoprocessing workflows and custom tools for ArcGIS Server 10.x
- Conduct day-to-day geospatial and non-spatial data management, including procurement, processing, quality assurance, and documentation to ensure data is operational, accurate, usable, and available to applications
- Design and implement database strategies, including optimizing database performance and capacity and planning for future expansion requirements
- Work collaboratively with product owners, small team of software engineers, and other stakeholders to translate user and functional requirements into technology requirements, solve problems, and recommend viable technical options
- Support maintenance of AWS deployment infrastructure
- Provide general GIS support and data analysis as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience developing browser-based, custom GIS applications using JavaScript, Dojo, Microsoft .Net and the ArcGIS Server 10.x platform
- Minimum 3 years’ experience designing and implementing workflows using large geospatial systems and enterprise architectures/solutions including, but not limited to, ESRI products
- High level of proficiency with queries and maintaining object-oriented and relational databases such as, Microsoft SQL Server and extensions of the relational model
- Minimum 36 months experience with queries and maintaining relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server
- Preferred background or experience in agriculture, natural resources management, physical sciences, and/or hydraulic engineering
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability to function as part of a small but growing distributed team in both leadership and supporting roles
- Ability to solve problems and recommend solutions
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and challenges throughout a project
- Self–starter with the ability to work independently, establish priorities, plan, coordinate, and monitor work plans and meet deadlines

Salary:
- $55,000 - $70,000, commensurate with qualifications & experience
- Opportunity for remote work arrangement
