Responsibilities:

This position will be performing analysis on various database sources to include: access, excel, GIS, and our client’s Traffic Count Database System (TCDS).  Updates will be made to TCDS and GIS systems based on findings.  This position will also have responsibility for assisting with the preparation of Turning Movement Forecasts which requires compiling historic data from multiple sources and analyzing data using Excel. It is hoped that the person would be able to develop scripts or other programmatic tools to streamline the preparation of forecasts. This person will assist in the annual preparation of data for submittal to Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS), including development of Annual Factors, updating of default traffic volumes, and preparation of HPMS reports. This person should have a solid working knowledge of data analysis through various sources and a basic understanding of ESRI ArcGIS analysis methodologies. The candidate will also have basic knowledge of creating macros in Office products with VBA and a basic knowledge of Python programming.

 

Description of Duties:

  • Data analysis and comparisons form various database types (40% of the time)
  • Turning Movement Forecasts (20% of the time, higher initially until backlog cleared)
  • Creation or Enhancement of Turning Movement Forecast tools (10%)
  • Assist with Development of Annual Factors and HPMS submission (10%)
  • Updates to proprietary data system (MS2) (10% of the time)
  • GIS, spatial data comparisons and analysis (10% of the time)

 

Qualifications:

Skillset Requested:

  • Excel (Advanced) – 3 years – Good Working Knowledge
  • Access (Advanced) 3 years - Good Working Knowledge
  • VBA & Python scripting 1 year – Basic Programming Knowledge

ArcGIS (Basic) – 1 year – Basic GIS Knowledge
