Environment and Public Works Press Intern - Washington D.C.

 

The Democratic staff of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee are seeking a full- or part-time paid press intern for the summer internship program beginning May 17 through July 30. 

This press internship is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a busy Capitol Hill press office, as well as accrue skills and participate in educational experiences beneficial to a career in communications. Duties include assisting with daily news clips, compiling news research, drafting media releases/advisories, maintaining press contact lists, creating social media content, and managing web content.

This position requires attention to detail, creativity, strong writing ability and grammar skills, and a willingness to learn. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office and Adobe suites and familiarity with social media is preferred.

A background in journalism or communications is a plus, but not required. Undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates, are encouraged to apply. Delaware ties are a plus.

This is a paid internship.
