If the department does not have at least four faculty members eligible and available to vote on the promotion decision or if it has no clinical faculty eligible to participate in the decision, the DEO in consultation with the Dean invites appropriate eligible faculty from outside the department to deliberate and vote with the department on the decision.

If the DEO is ineligible to participate in a promotion decision, the Dean in consultation with the eligible faculty designates an eligible faculty member to perform the duties assigned to the DEO during the review.
