CLAS Strategic Communications uses photography and video to help tell the story of CLAS people, programs, and priorities.

Working closely with print and web designers, Jill Tobin, the CLAS staff photographer, specializes in collaborating with departments to capture imagery that aligns with the department's strategic priorities, for use on websites, print materials, and other applications.

Requests for photography services are evaluated according to the photography's strategic utility, pertinent deadlines, and other criteria. We are always eager to work with CLAS units in developing and executing ideas, or in finding alternate solutions to their needs. Ask about photography.

Professional headshots: Please use the central UI Office of Strategic Communication's drop-in portrait studio. There is no cost to CLAS faculty and staff for this service.

Event photography: In most cases, CLAS Strategic Communications is unable to provide a photographer for event documentation. A good campus resource for event and other photos is the Student Life Marketing + Design group.

CLAS Photo Library: CLAS Strategic Communications has compiled a continually updated library of CLAS-specific photos available for use (please ignore the "Buy" buttons; all photos are free and available for download.) Photographer Jill Tobin is happy to consult on photo selection, use, editing, or other photo questions.

UI Photo Library: The central UI Office of Strategic Communication maintains a public gallery on Photoshelter. In addition, approved on-campus users can access high-quality images for marketing and communications purposes at the UI Photoshelter site.

Jill Tobin, the CLAS videographer, creates high-quality video for purposes that advance the college's strategic goals. Check out the CLAS YouTube channel to see her work.
