Virtual Focus Groups for Research/Creative Production Faculty

We’re all increasingly aware of the challenges faculty are and will be facing as we close out the semester and turn to work outside the classroom. From child care to supporting distraught students to the inability to travel or work with community partners or have access to performance spaces, we understand that faculty are dealing with tough issues. We—CLAS and the Office of the Vice President for Research—want to help by learning from you how we can develop thoughtfully considered contingency plans for assisting faculty in their arts practice and research as we continue to navigate the COVID crisis going forward.

To understand what support is needed, whether for those working in studios, archives, or other spaces, the CLAS Research/Creative Work Continuity and Advancement committee, in coordination with the Office of the Vice President for Research Ramp Up Committee, is organizing a series of virtual focus groups. We would be grateful if you can offer feedback, surface issues, and share your thoughts about solutions. We also welcome your suggestions for new approaches to work, to collaborate, etc.—whatever would help with both the immediate nuts and bolts challenges and the longer term vision needed to move research and creative work forward on campus.

We welcome you or a departmental representative to sign up for one of the following focus groups, which will include colleagues from the arts, humanities, and social sciences:
