The Geoscience mineral separation facility is designed to produce mineral separates in a clean, contaminant free environment.  Specific equipment includes large and small format jaw crushers, pulverizer, shaker table, free fall and barrier Frantz electromagnetic  separators, and density liquids.  Separates, thin sections, and sample mounts can be imaged in the microscope and SEM facilities.  Facilities available for U-Pb geochronologic analyses currently include the USGS/Stanford SHRIMP laboratory and the University of Arizona LaserChron facility.  For more information about the facilities and availability, please contact Bill McClelland.
