Minor in Italian
The minor in Italian requires 15 s.h. with a GPA of at least 2.00; 12 s.h. must be taken at The University of Iowa in courses numbered above 3000-level. Students must take ITAL:2550 (Images of Modern Italy) for 4 s.h. (requiring additional meeting time for Italian-language discussion section) in order to count it toward the minor. All courses for the minor must be taught in Italian.
Coursework in the minor may not be taken pass/nonpass.
Students who plan to use an Italian minor to teach at the elementary/secondary school level should contact the Office of Education Services in the College of Education to ascertain specific requirements for a teaching endorsement.
