Obermann Virtual Guest Mini Grants—The Obermann Center will provide a $150 honorarium to support virtual course visits with experts from outside the University of Iowa. We welcome applications from faculty members (including lecturers and clinical faculty) who are teaching semester-long 3-credit hour courses that fulfill the requirement of a major or graduate degree in any college.
Due date: September 16.

The second is the Book Ends program, for BOTH assistant and associate professors who are nearing completion of a book ms and would like to invite two external top scholars in their field along with two UI faculty members to read and offer suggestions for that final round of revisions before the book is submitted to a Press. We’ll do those virtually for now.

Obermann Book Ends—Co-sponsored by the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies and the Office of the Vice President for Research, this seminar of external and UI professors supports University of Iowa assistant AND associate professors from disciplines in which publishing a monograph is required for tenure and promotion. The award helps faculty members turn promising, nearly completed manuscripts into important, field-changing, published books.
Due date: September 15
