Executive Vice President and Provost Kevin Kregel and Faculty Senate President Teresa Marhsall have announced the call for nominations for the Regents Award for Faculty Excellence.

I encourage you to nominate outstanding faculty members in your department or program for this important honor.  You or another senior faculty member should write the nomination statement.  This award, open to all faculty (e.g., tenured/tenure-track, clinical-track, and instructional-track faculty) and provides a $1,500 one-time stipend.  Recipients must have a sustained record of excellence across the spectrum of faculty endeavors (teaching, scholarship, service) or such outstanding accomplishments in one or more of the areas as to justify their selection.  The nomination should include the following information, collated into a single pdf in the following order with the file saved as Last Name Regents Award for Faculty Excellence FA21:

• A description of the process used to select the nominee;
• A nomination statement that speaks to all areas of faculty endeavor (teaching, scholarship, service) even if the nominee is being nominated for outstanding accomplishments in fewer areas;
• A current curriculum vitae;
• Two supporting letters from faculty with one from the nominee’s department or college.

Past recipients of the Regents Award for Faculty Excellence and guidelines for nominations are listed on this link http://provost.uiowa.edu/regents-award-faculty-excellence.  Nominations of outstanding women and minority faculty members are encouraged.

Faculty can only receive the award once.

The associate deans and I will select up to four collegiate nominees from among the nominations received.

Since the College's deadline to forward its nominations is December 10, 2021, I ask that you submit the nominations electronically to Gabriella McDermott at gabriella-mcdermott@uiowa.edu by Monday, November 29, 2021. Again, please submit the aforementioned information collated into a single pdf in the following order with the file saved as Last Name Regents Award for Faculty Excellence FA21.
