The Regents Award for Faculty Excellence was established by the Board of Regents to provide a state-wide forum in which the excellence of faculty members is recognized and shared with colleagues from other Regent institutions. The University of Iowa will award each recipient a $1,500 one-time stipend. The college can up submit to four nominees for this award.

Eligibility

All UI faculty members are eligible for selection. Recipients must have a sustained record of excellence across the spectrum of faculty endeavors (teaching, scholarship, service) or such outstanding accomplishments in one or more of the areas as to justify their selection.

Nomination Packet

Submit the following items in the following order collated into one pdf to Gabbie McDermott (gabriella-mcdermott@uiowa.edu) by Monday, November 28, at 4:00pm:

  1. A description of the process used to select the nominee.
  2. A nomination statement that speaks to all areas of faculty endeavor (teaching, scholarship, service), even if the nominee is being nominated for outstanding accomplishments in fewer than three areas.
  3. A current curriculum vitae.
  4. Two supporting letters from faculty members in the nominee’s department or in the college.

Please note the deadline published on the Provost’s Office’s website is for the Dean’s Office; the Dean’s Office needs time to review the nominations.
