Planning and Writing Successful NSF CAREER Grant Proposals Seminar

An NSF CAREER award application is more than an NSF Standard Grant with an education plan added in. Highly competitive awards integrate the research and education plan. In this seminar, we talk about why and how to create a plan that results in a competitive proposal. Presented by Dr. Peg AtKisson (AtKisson Training Group) on Thursday, December 2 and Friday, January 7, 14, 21 from 9am-11am (8 total hours). The session topics include:

  • Understanding the Basics of CAREERs
  • Planning Your Proposal
  • Crafting a Compelling Overview
  • Designing Your Education and Research Plans
  • Discussing the Literature, Preliminary Work, and Significance
  • Letters and the Rest

NSF CAREER Club

For those interested, the NSF CAREER Club is designed to give you the knowledge and resources to craft competitive CAREER applications. NIH K Award Ecosystem: Writing a Competitive K Award Seminar

A competitive NIH Career Development K Award fits together like a complex ecosystem. This seminar will walk you through all the parts of the proposal, emphasizing the purpose of each part and how different sections must mesh. Presented by Dr. Peg AtKisson (AtKisson Training Group) on Monday, December 6 from 9am-1pm. The session topics include:

  • Addressing review criteria in all components
  • What makes a good Candidate?
  • Connecting Candidate, Career Development, and Mentor
