Diversity Resources is offering a variety of free, virtual ways to engage over the summer, and these opportunities are open to staff.  Please see the information both below and attached.

BUILD Virtual Cohorts
BUILD Virtual Cohorts is the newest program offered out of the Building University of Iowa Leadership for Diversity (BUILD) initiative. This six-week series will engage participants in the guided completion of their BUILD certificate. Participants will complete 13 hours of training, including intentional conversations with fellow cohort members and a certified cultural intelligence coach. Three sections available. This initiative will begin next week and run throughout the month of June. Get registered today!

Connecting Hawkeyes Across Technology (CHAT) Sessions
CHAT sessions will provide a casual venue for you to meet and connect with others. You will have an opportunity to join a small group of individuals to discuss similar "get-to-know-you" interest areas. Each group will be provided start-up questions to break the ice and get the conversation going! Sessions will occur every Wednesday and Friday from 12pm to 1pm CST starting this week until the end of June.

Summer Social Justice Reading Group
Join your colleagues in impactful conversations about the nuances of identity, advocacy, and social justice. Our new Virtual Summer Social Justice Reading Group happens every Friday from 1pm to 2pm CST. These virtual sessions will cover free-to-read books and/or publications that are available broadly or through the UI Libraries.

Virtual Discussions
Each week will focus on a different topic and provide various medium options to engage. Available options include engaging with one of our listening, reading, or viewing groups. The topics include: ability, class/socioeconomic status, gender/gender expression, race, and sexuality/sexual orientation. Sessions will occur throughout the month of June and can be used towards the BUILD Passport program.
