The College would like to encourage all CLAS faculty to participate in the voting on the following two referendums:

  1. Referendum # 1 requests the faculty to approve the revised College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (CLAS) Manual of Policy and Procedure (MOPP).  The Executive Committee has approved the revision.  The Faculty Assembly approved the revision subject to “corrections regarding to wording related to Lecturers and instructional track faculty, and an amendment to Article V, Section 1, to allow a maximum of three (rather than four) members on Executive Committee from any one voting group.”  The text of the Referendum reflects these changes.  Ratification of the Referendum requires three-fifths majority of those voting.  If the faculty approves the Referendum, it will be sent to the Provost and President of the University for final approval.

On Thursday May 4, a link to the Referendum ballot will be sent by CLAS to all faculty voters.   Voting will be held May 4-May 11.

  1. Referendum #2, sponsored by the Office of the Provost, requests the faculty to approve the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (CLAS) Instructional Faculty Policy.   Detailed information regarding the Referendum as well as the dates for voting (scheduled to occur in May) will be sent to CLAS faculty by the Office of Provost.

Thank you.
