The William T Grant Scholars Program supports career development for promising early-career researchers. The program funds five-year research and mentoring plans that significantly expand researchers’ expertise in new disciplines, methods, and content areas. Applicants must have received their terminal degree within seven years of submitting their application. Application guidelines are available HERE.

The foundation supports research in two distinct focus areas:
1) Reducing inequality in youth outcomes.
2) Improving the use of research evidence in decisions that affect young people.

This is an early career program that only allows one application per college (within UI). If you are interested in applying to this program, please send the following to Associate Dean for Research Joshua Weiner (joshua-weiner@uiowa.edu), with cc. to Carmen Langel (carmen-langel@uiowa.edu) by Monday, May 1, 2023. (Note, this is a change from an earlier communication with a May 22 deadline.)

1. Title and Overview of your proposed research and mentoring plan (maximum 1 page)
2. 1-2 page CV

If selected to apply for this program, the mentor and reference letter deadline is June 14, 2023. The deadline for full proposals is July 5, 2023.
