We are accepting nominations for the University of Iowa Distinguished Professorship offered through the Provost office.

The nomination process will have two steps. By March 15th, please email to the candidate’s name, current CV, and the names and contact information of five faculty who can provide letters of support. At least two of the faculty must be external to the university.

By April 6, please email us the rest of the required documents:

  • A statement of no more than two pages describing the nominee’s contributions to the field and how their research, teaching, and/or scholarship has contributed to economic development and well-being within the state of Iowa.
  • A two paragraph statement briefly describing the candidate’s research, teaching, and/or scholarship excellence; evidence of the potential for continued extraordinary productivity; and evidence of interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Three examples of scholarly products.

If your Department is nominating more than one candidate, please rank the candidates.

Please submit the complete application to Carole Kern by April 6.
