By Wednesday, April 1, DEOs must notify the Dean's Office of all faculty in their departments who intend to submit applications in September 2020 for 2021-22 CDA awards. In particular, each DEO should send a single list of all prospective CDA applicants to Allison Bierman (allison-bierman@uiowa.edu) by 5:00 pm April 1. Please ensure that all your eligible faculty are aware of this deadline.

Under the CLAS Policy on Career Development Awards (http://clas.uiowa.edu/research/career-development-awards), proposals for CDAs are reviewed at the collegiate level by a faculty committee. The policy also encourages DEOs to seek the advice of their departmental executive committee or senior faculty on the quality of the proposals. Please discuss within your department what mechanism would be most appropriate to ensure that high quality CDA proposals are submitted.
