The College would like to encourage all CLAS faculty to participate in the voting on the following two referendums:

  1. Referendum #1 requests the faculty to approve proposed amendments of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (CLAS) Instructional Track Policy. The Executive Committee has approved the amendments. The Faculty Assembly approved the amendments subject to the “criteria for promotion by rank.” The text of the Referendum reflects these changes. Ratification of the Referendum requires three-fifths majority of those voting. If the faculty approves the Referendum, it will be sent to the Provost for final approval.
  2. Referendum #2 requests the faculty to approve proposed amendments of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (CLAS) Manual of Policy and Procedure (MOPP). The Executive Committee has approved the amendments. The Faculty Assembly approved the amendments subject to an amendment to Article XI, to change “an associate director from CLAS Academic Programs and Student Development” to “a staff member of the CLAS Dean’s Office” in regards to committee composition. The text of the Referendum reflects these changes. Ratification of the Referendum requires three-fifths majority of those voting. If the faculty approves the Referendum, it will be sent to the Provost and President of the University for final approval.

Voting will be held Friday, March 4 - Friday, March 11, and the Referendum ballot will be part of the CLAS Faculty Election voting process.
