We wanted to remind you that the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology (OTLT) Center for Teaching will offer an array of events this spring. Anyone interested in teaching and learning at the UI is encouraged to register for upcoming events centered on promoting engagement in large enrollment courses, addressing student and instructor burnout, building community for effective peer learning, fostering engagement beyond the classroom, and creating intellectually fruitful diversity exercises.

One upcoming event of interest is a panel discussion entitled, “Perspectives on Teaching from Community College to R1.” This a virtual panel, which is co-sponsored by the Graduate College, will feature conversation with faculty members discussing what teaching is like at small liberal arts colleges, community colleges, R1s, and more. The discussion will include strategies for applying to academic positions at each type of institution. Bring your curiosity and questions.
