I’m sure you all saw the email from University Human Resources (sent November 20, 2020) related to two additional paid days off in recognition of all the hard work we have put in this past semester.  It was outlined that academically appointed faculty would receive Wednesday January 20 and Thursday January 21, 2021 off as additional paid days.  We have received guidance from University HR to be flexible with these dates.  We understand that many departments, schools, and programs already have scheduled orientations, meetings, Winterim schedule, and planning sessions ahead of the start of the spring semester and cannot, at this late hour, cancel those and reschedule.

Please work with your faculty to determine other days within the academic semester that would work with their schedules.  Please also consider the success of our students remains of utmost importance and days off should not interfere with the already scheduled class days defined by the University.
