I am pleased to announce that effective September 1, 2018, visiting faculty members holding 50% or greater appointments for the duration of an academic year or longer will be eligible for UI Benefits as regular (i.e., non-temporary) employees. 

CLAS greatly values the contributions of visiting faculty and we are delighted to offer visiting faculty members the same package of benefits that permanent members of the faculty receive, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and retirement programs.

Please see the memo linked here announcing the campus-wide policy. The College will send notifications to all visiting faculty now eligible for benefits with instructions on the steps they should take to enroll in the benefits program.
