Please send this information to your students or add it to your ICON site; we hope this will save you time in the long run.

Also keep in mind that instructors maintain their own grading schemes and assign regular letter grades (or points, percentages etc.) in ICON accordingly.

  • Students may then request that the final semester letter grade be changed to the P/N option.
  • This change will be made by the Registrar for students and not by individual instructors.
  • A final semester grade of C- or higher will result in the P; a final grade lower than this will be a N.
  • Instructors will not approve these requests and most likely will not know that students are requesting the P/N option.
  • Continue to refer students to their advisors about the best possible choice related to P/N grades. This choice for some students will be very complex.
