Another flexible pay award to consider in recognizing staff members is the SPOT Performance Award (https://clas.uiowa.edu/human-resources/exceptional-performance-flexible-pay-awards). If you would like to nominate a staff member for a SPOT Award, please contact your CLAS HR Representative. SPOT Awards are processed with the regular monthly payroll and paid as a separate check. If you have any questions, please contact your CLAS HR Rep.

Please note that if you are nominating a staff member for efforts related to COVID-19, we will need to know this when you nominate the staff member to accurately track special compensation transactions that occur as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. A checkbox has been added to all special comp forms. This includes prior approval and payment forms for all employee categories and form types. If the transaction isn’t the result of COVID-19, simply ignore the checkbox. We will generate reports based on the usage of the checkbox.
