Tyler Williams

Tyler has diverse research interests related to intersections of technology, culture, and political economy in historical contexts. He has written recently about: the role of digital video codecs, as integrated hardware-software platforms, in shaping contemporary media culture; and about the variety of film shorts in the first half of the twentieth century as modernist attractions for cinema audiences. His central research is on animation, in its many forms, and specifically on contemporary American animated sitcoms.
