Micki Burdick (she/her) is a PhD student in the Communication Studies and GWSS Departments at Iowa. She studies the rhetorical history of the pro-life movement through ethnographic and archival research, hoping to advance reproductive justice through a serious and nuanced reading of the pro-life movement's grassroots protests, discourse, and oral histories. Her research explores the bodies of white Evangelical women within the pro-life movement, and how they wield and create their bodies and subjectivity to affect other women's bodily autonomy and subjectivity. Before Iowa, Micki received her masters in Communication Studies at Villanova University and attended undergrad in Rochester, NY.
