Trevon Jakaar Coleman is a caricaturist, illustrator, painter, printmaker, and filmmaker. Completing his undergraduate at UCF, in Florida, Trevon earned a BFA in Studio Art and a BFA in Film Production.
Trevon’s work explores alienation theory as a way to challenge audience expectations. He develops alienation through layered dissections of conventional language and form. His film work includes short narrative, hybrid narrative documentary, expanded cinema/installation, and experimental film. Trevon’s recent body of work, the “Super” series uses superhero iconography to challenge expectations and perceptions of black bodies, representations, and audience onus.
