In January 2016, the Office of Research and Economic Development (OVPRED) launched the "Dare to Discover" campaign showcasing researchers, scholars, and creators from across the University of Iowa, including a series of banners throughout downtown Iowa City. Visit the "Dare to Discover" web page, where you can learn the stories behind the personal faces of discovery and creativity--and learn the location of each banner.

The banners highlight the breadth, depth, and diversity of research and scholarship activities that define our campus, from cancer and diabetes research through law scholarship to writing and printmaking.  By using OVPRED’s "Dare to Discover" tagline as a common theme, the banners demonstrate the great work taking place at the university and challenge others to take up the cause of discovery and innovation.

The banners will be in place through February. Then OVPRED will move as many as possible into University Capitol Center to hang along the second-floor railings. The banner campaign will repeat for the next few years.
