Travis VoganUniversity of Iowa Assistant Professor Travis Vogan edited a special journal forum on the topic “The Sports Documentary In/As Sport History.” The forum, which also includes an article authored by Vogan, is featured in the Journal of Sport History. The journal’s most recent issue was printed in September.

Vogan has a joint appointment in the Department of American Studies and the School of Journalism & Mass Communication, which are part of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. He studies the intersections among sport, media, and American culture, but is particularly interested in the cultural history of sport media with a focus on television, documentary film, and media institutions, according to the UI’s School of Journalism & Mass Communication website. The book offers a historical perspective on NFL Films, the National Football League’s subsidiary film production company.
