Why did you choose your major?
Chemistry offers me a different perspective on the world; it lets me see and think about things on a different level. I absolutely love learning the fundamental aspects of the world and hope to keep expanding my mind through the subject of chemistry.

What campus organizations and activities are you involved in?
Medicus, Colleges Against Cancer, and the Dean's Student Advisory Committee

What off-campus organizations and activities are you involved in?
Alpha Chi Sigma (AXE) Professional Chemistry Fraternity and the Performance Based Assessment Program at the Carver College of Medicine

What have some of your favorite classes been outside of your major? Why?
THEATRE! Learning about theatre truly helps me appreciate the fine arts. Theatre courses balance out my schedule and offer extremely interesting material. But perhaps most importantly... they're really FUN!

Have you participated in research projects with faculty members?
I am currently a student research assistant a part of the Tranel Lab in the Division of Behavioral Neurology and Cognitive Neuroscience.

Who has been your favorite professor and why?
Professor Ned Bowden. He's a very energetic and enthusiastic professor and makes chemistry easy and fun to learn!

What advice would you give to a first-year student?
Don't get overwhelmed! There are so many things to do here at the university it can be very burdening and cause a lot of pressure. Take everything one step at a time, learn how to manage your time, and persevere!

What are your post-graduation plans?
I plan on attending medical school upon graduation.
